I am always searching for a new setting powder that is- affordable, translucent and that ACTUALLY DOES IT’S JOB.
I have skin that is both oily and dry so finding a powder that doesn’t cling to any dry patches or exaggerate my already giant pores is a problem. I’m not to fussed about whether or not its pressed or loose I just want it to make my skin look matte and perfect.
I came across the loose translucent Luna powder, by Luna by Luna a few months ago. I’ve continued to try and use it and make it work but it just doesn’t have the outcome that I want. I’m not saying its a terrible powder its just not right for my skin. If you have similar sounding skin to mine then this may be worth a read in order to save yourself £22.
Luna by Luna powder
This powder retails for £22.00 ( and if shipping to the UK an extra £15.00 £37.00 total). The powder is loose and comes only in the shade translucent. The powder is also cruelty free. The ingredients are; TALC, MICA, SILICA, PHENOXYETHANOL, TITANIUM DIOXIDE. The powder is gluten free.
Why it didn’t work for me.
I found this powder to be very hard to blend and work into my skin. When applying the powder with my normal powder brush I found that it stuck to my foundation and would pull my foundation as I tried to move it across my face. I also found that it exaggerated my pores and stuck to the creases of my eyes. It would also move throughout the day. However the powder was very light weight and thin, which is what drew me to the product in the first place.
I also found that although the product was translucent it did make me look very pale and washed out with only a small amount of product.
This is not a BAD product it just didn’t work for me, however it might work perfectly for someone else. I would also like to experiment more with this brand by trying some of there other products. I love that they are cruelty free and that the ingredients are very minimal and that the ingredient list is short and not filled with chemicals.
